The Business Experience is an excellent way for pupils to learn about business in a practical and stimulating environment. The pupils who took part fromDeans Community High School thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and have left with improved communication, presentation and team working skills. It has also encouraged and inspired some of the team members to apply for a Business course at university. All pupils have commented that the event has enhanced their understanding of business concepts learnt in the classroom.

'When I initially came up with the idea to start my own business, I felt very daunted by the gaps in my knowledge. I approached Business Gateway who talked me through the whole process of setting up my business including things such as setting up in the right business format, searching for the correct property and what records to keep. I needed to raise a certain level of funding and was advised by my advisor that in this current climate a strong business plan would be required. I worked with my advisor to develop this business plan and in the process ensured I was prepared and aware of the various aspects required to set up my business. The business plan was presented to the bank, and after a few nervous days, my funding was approved. I feel that without Business Gateways help and support I would never have got my business off the ground.'
